My latest book, Fired at 57: My Fight for Justice in Christian Academia," focuses on many problems that I faced at Calvin Theological Seminary. But the overriding isuue was one of sex discrimination. Colleagues insisted that such was ridiculous because the three administrators all professed to believe in gender equality. But the law has nothing to do with one's professed opinions of women. The law says that if a woman is fully as qualified as a male peer but is treated worse, that in itself is gender discrimination. With documents, I show time and again that I was more qualified than male counterparts who were promoted while I was removed from tenure track and given a terminal appointment.
